Why I Think Fresh Air & Sunshine is So Important for My Baby

Do you ever get so caught up in all the mom sh** you have to do that like halfway through the day you realize you haven’t seen the light of day? I have been there many a time, and I can confidently say, that very thing is a big contributor to my depression periods..

So I try to go on at least two 1 mile walks per day, and sit outside, breathe in the fresh air and soak up the sunshine. Especially during these last few months of comfortable weather!

I do this for my own health but mostly for Bear. I don’t want him to be cooped up inside all day. During our first few weeks together, I noticed that when he when he was super upset or just extra fussy, if I took him outside, he would almost immediately stop crying. He loves it out there! I don’t know if it’s the air, the light or the sounds, but he seems to love being outside. And I think that’s a totally natural thing because if you think about it, we were meant to spend our lives outside. Back in the day, people weren’t cooped up inside working, kids weren’t in school for seven hours a day, etc.

So I try to spend most of our day outside, walking to the places that are close to our house, laying outside on a blanket in our yard, and going for long strolls in near by parks.

I think we’re both in a better mood for the day when we’ve had some time outside!
