Every Thursday for the past couple of weeks I’ve been walking to the farmer’s market with Bear. It’s right down the street, about a 15 minute walk from our house. I load him up in the stroller and we head out at about 9:30am to go get some yummy fruits and vegetables!
I’ve been trying to eat healthier recently for Bear because I want him to be as strong and healthy as possible. So I’m going to add a TON more fruits and veggies to my diet. And of course locally grown produce is the best produce! Here is what I got this time and what I plan on getting almost every time I go.
I usually sauté these in olive oil and butter for a dinner side.
The name sounds gross but it tastes really good! I put it in salads, stir frys and sometimes I’ll sauté it on its own for a dinner side.
I use these in potato dishes mostly and sometimes in scrambled eggs. It adds a nice flavor to pretty much anything!
Sometimes I’ll bake it and sometimes I’ll chop it up and boil it. It can go in soups, pastas or just by itself with butter and salt!
Tomatoes & Onions
Just one of those things you should always have in your kitchen 🙂
I always have zucchini on hand. I put it in fried rice, ratatouille and other stir frys. It’s one of my favorite vegetables!
This is another one of those things that I always have on hand. I usually use them in stir frys.
They’re so good for you! I’ll use these to make mashed potatoes or fries.
I’ll boil this and add some butter and salt for a dinner side 🙂

Any purple vegetable is soooo good for you! This is actually really yummy raw but I’ll sauté it sometimes as well. I try to put it in everything because it’s so healthy.
And that’s it! When we got home, Bear was knocked out and stayed asleep for a couple of hours, so I ceased the opportunity and chopped and prepped as much as I could! So now when I need to make dinner I can just throw everything in the pan without having to chop stuff up.
Time to make some yummy food 🙂
